304 – The trusted figure

Based on industry reports, 304 accounts for approximately 50% of all stainless steel used. The popularity of this material is due to an attractive combination of properties including a reasonable level of corrosion resistance, excellent weldability, and good formability.

The Outokumpu product portfolio comprises nine stainless steel ranges. Even though Core 304/4301 is considered the ‘workhorse grade’ there might be other stainless steels that offer even better value for specific applications. Choosing a grade for a project requires careful planning and expertise, yet results in an optimal solution for precise demands.
