Supra 316plus: No ordinary ride

Famed for its record-breaking racecars, Sweden’s Pure Performance Factory boasts another world first – a racecar trailer lined with luxury-grade stainless steel.

The name is sure to ring a bell among motor racing fans. Avesta-based Pure Performance Factory (PPF) has been tuning up prize-winning drag and street racecars for almost a decade, garnering rave reviews in more than 30 trade magazines.

The latest triumph is a racecar trailer that turned heads at the FIA European Drag Racing Championships at Sweden’s Tierp Arena last August. The trailer contains a workshop made of Outokumpu Supra 316plus steel, an Outokumpu innovation that gives the trailer its high-end look and feel.

“Most trailers out there aren’t built with the same finish as a regular living room. Ours is,” says PPF President Andreas Bäckström.

Custom-built with amazing result

The trailer was custom-built for a Pro-Modified turbo-charged Chevrolet Chevelle ‘69 with expert support from Outokumpu’s Nordic Service Center in Eskilstuna, Sweden, which specializes in custom-cut sheets and coil products.

“We contacted Claes Sörebo at Outokumpu’s Avesta mill and told him about our project. He thought it would be a great way to show off Outokumpu Supra 316plus, since it makes a clear statement. It’s a high-performance material for high-performance applications,” adds Bäckström.

“PPF wanted to install a stainless steel workshop into an old trailer. We looked at the challenge, came up with a tailor-made solution and provided every possible form of support,” says Petri Kujala, Managing Director of Outokumpu Nordic Service Center in Eskilstuna, Sweden.

“We simply presented our idea and they made it happen. Outokumpu Supra 316plus is an extremely durable material, and perfect for our trailer. The result is amazing,” says Bäckström.
