Outokumpu divests its plate services in Castelleone, Italy – coil services and quarto plate sales unaffected

Outokumpu’s plate services in our service center in Castelleone, Italy, is to be taken over by one of our biggest customers in Italy, Mariotti stainless steel group. All plate services and operations in Castelleone, machines and stock transfer to Mariotti. Apart a few exceptions, also the existing contracts and sales orders are transferred to Mariotti.

Coil service center in the same location continues its operations normally, and it is not impacted by this deal in any way. Outokumpu also continues to sale quarto plate to distributors and tube producers as before.

Mariotti has three stainless steel service centers in northern Italy, located in Pontevico (Brescia) and Gravellona Toce (Verbania). “Mariotti is looking to complete their offering on the market and in special products. For Outokumpu, Mariotti has been a very good customer of ours, and the cooperation continues with Outokumpu as a supplier and Castelleone service center as a part of our customer’s operations. We are glad to have found Mariotti Group as the best owner to further develop the business in Italy,” says Marc-Simon Schaar, head of M&A.
