Forta range
The Forta range contains the following; Duplex, H-series austenitic and temper rolled products.
The Duplex products are suitable for high strength, corrosion resistance, and enhanced resistance to stress corrosion cracking. The H-series austenitic products are suitable for high strength and high ductility. Lastly, the temper rolled products are suitable for high strength and high hardness.
The Forta range products are appropriate for a variety of applications. Our Duplex products are excellent for pressure piping systems, pressure vessels, storage tanks and structural components to name a few. The weldability of duplex steels is good provided the suggested welding procedures are followed.
Our H-series products are suitable for automotive applications including structural safety parts chassis parts and complex-forming parts. In addition, railroad cars, trucks, buses as well as flanges and valves are also appropriate application purposes.
Unlike carbon steels, Forta range duplex products with their superior corrosion resistance do not need to be coated making them a more cost-effective long-term choice. Since duplex products are also high strength, thinner gauges can potentially be used which saves on material costs. The thermal expansion of duplex is similar to carbon
steels making it possible to combine the two in one and the same application.
