We meet the growing demand for sustainable, locally manufactured stainless steel in the USMCA region, driven by industries like automotive, construction, appliances, and energy, alongside trade policies encouraging domestic production. The U.S. market remains attractive in the long-term and Outokumpu continues to study further growth opportunities beyond standard stainless steel.

With a growing portfolio of both austenitic and ferritic grades from melt shop and cold-rolling mill in Calvert, Alabama, and our stainless steel finishing mill in San Luis Potosí, Mexico, where we have our own cold rolling mill as the only stainless steel producer. We are a clear #2 in the U.S. as well as the USMCA market. Outokumpu's Americas business area is well-positioned to serve the expanding needs of the Americas’ market.

In the US, most of our business is conducted through distributors, who reach end-customers via their vast network of depots and finishing facilities. In contrast, the Mexican market is more focused on direct engagement with manufacturers, particularly in the automotive and appliance sectors – key segments of our portfolio. By this approach, we meet the needs of both markets.

Americas has a robust flat steel offering, complemented by responsive service, expert technical support, and a strong, integrated supply chain. Our Calvert mill has the newest technical equipment, which allows us to produce material of highest quality and efficiency. In addition, we have the only stainless steel production facility in Mexico.
