Outokumpu Ultra Alloy 825 is a titanium stabilized nickel base alloy with an addition of copper. It contains about 40 % nickel, and it has an austenitic microstructure. Ultra Alloy 825 is a new product in Outokumpu’s Ultra range, which are meant for extremely corrosive environments.
The titanium stabilization together with the low carbon content reduce the risk to form chromium carbide precipitations when used at temperatures where e.g. stainless steels may be sensitive to this phenomenon. This makes the alloy less sensitive to intergranular corrosion.
The alloy is intended for use in the chemical and oil industries. One of the primary advantages of Ultra Alloy 825 is its good resistance to sulphur containing environments where it has superior resistance to hydrogen and hydrogen sulphide induced cracking.
Outokumpu offers Ultra Alloy 825 in coil up to width of 1,500 mm, both hot and cold rolled. Ultra Alloy 825 is also available as wire rod in our long products portfolio.
