AvestaPolarit announced on 29 January 2001 having made a market-making contract with ArosMaizels Equities Oy, presently Nordea Securities Oyj, in order to support sufficient supply and demand of AvestaPolarit shares on the Helsinki Exchanges. According to the approvals provided by Stockholm and Helsinki Exchanges, AvestaPolarit shares will be de-listed in Stockholm Exchanges on
30 December 2002 and in Helsinki Exchanges as soon as Outokumpu has attained 100 per cent of the AvestaPolarit shares. The parties have today agreed to terminate the market-making contract as of 31 December 2002.
