From two fully integrated European Steckel mills, the North American division of Outokumpu imports hot rolled coil, which can be cut to length (CPP) or delivered in coil form, in a variety of sizes and finishes. Both mills provide annealing and pickling procedures to improve the metal structure and remove scale.

Hot rolled coil and plate is used in the fabrication of process plants for chemicals, pulp and paper, pharmaceuticals, among other industries. In reducing the number of individual plates required to complete a project, the wide product offered by Outokumpu provides advantages to the customer in terms of savings in fabrication time and welding costs.

Outokumpu produces exceptional special grades such as 904L and 254 SMO®, used for over 20 years to provide longer material life in the most corrosive environments; heat resisting stainless steel 309S, 310S, 153 MA and 253MA®; and SAF 2304® and 2205 Code Plus Two® Duplex stainless steel.

Another of our specialized products is VKS stainless – a hot coil product that is lightly cold reduced and then shotblasted. The result is a product with a finish between hot rolled and cold rolled that can provide customer advantages in the production of welded tubes for certain applications.
