Our full range of grades include our newest lean duplex stainless steel LDX 2101®, which combines low nickel content with high mechanical strength. Not only can our stronger grades provide cost-savings for the initial material cost, additional project cost savings can also be realized. For example, with our “dual duplex concept”, water reuse and desalination customers may specify the highly corrosion resistant duplex stainless steel 2205 Code Plus Two® for parts exposed to more hostile environments, and use the lower-alloyed LDX 2101® for less hostile conditions.
In applications where very high ductility, wide temperature ranges, or specific corrosion features are desired, Outokumpu’s austenitic stainless steel and superaustenitic stainless steel grades are often recommended. Outokumpu's superaustenitic stainless steel grades, such as254 SMO, have for more than 30 years shown reliability in resisting highly corrosive environments. In fact, 254 SMO is particularly effective in sea water applications.
Outokumpu has seven approved stainless steel grades for drinking water applications ANSI/NSF Standard 61 Municipal Drinking Water System.
Outokumpu has six stainless steel grades for Department of Agriculture Approved testing according to the methods in 3-A sanitary Standards.
