Patrik, could you tell us a little about what you do at Outokumpu?
I am both Service Level Manager and Web Team Manager. I also manage any IT project concerning our web.

What was your motivation for applying?
I was looking for new challenges and the opportunity to work for a multinational company with high ambitions was intriguing. Before Outokumpu, I was at a small company with limited possibilities for development. I began working at Outokumpu in May 2007, which makes me fairly new at the company.

Could you tell us something about your responsibilities?
Our web team manages and supports our Intranet as well as our Internet sites. As our team is responsible for global services, I report to a managing group with representatives from the Web Communication Office and our Internal Communication Office. Besides managing and heading my web team, I am also responsible for providing the organization with recommendations and suggestions on how web technology can help them in their work.

What are your formal and personal qualifications for this job?
My experience as web developer and team leader for 14 years have provided me with the education and training needed for this position. As you can see, I have not taken the – perhaps – most normal way to this job, with higher formal education and then some experience. I only have three years in upper secondary school, the Social Sciences Program, and my long professional experience behind me.
