Outokumpu PSC Nordic has four waterjet cutters. The largest cutting table length is 13.2 m and the largest effective cutting width is 4.1 m. This means that our waterjet cutting equipment is a perfect match for our press brakes.
The cutters can handle all steels and metals up to a thickness of 100 mm. The advantages of cold machining are many.
The thin jets of water (1 mm in diameter) promote maximum efficiency in the use of material. Cuts are extremely clean and even; this greatly reduces, and sometimes even eliminates, the need for further machining.
In all horizontal planes, cutting is so precise that tolerances of tenths of millimetres are guaranteed. This gives designers great freedom in coming up with complex figures and all sorts of elaborate holes! As waterjet cutting is a cold machining technique, the metals we work (hardened materials included therein) retain their properties even at the cut itself.

Large cutting tables represent a great time saving - massive plates can be cut in a single operation, i.e. there is no need to continuously reposition plates.
