Energy

The steel industry is traditionally viewed as a major consumer of energy and the steel making and rolling processes operated by Outokumpu are indeed energy intensive. The need to use energy efficiently has been recognized for many years and Outokumpu has worked hard to achieve an impressive record in reducing the amount of energy consumed. Energy reduction plans are incorporated into our Group's Environmental management systems.
