Stainless can be stored, handled, cut, welded, formed,machined and fabricated in much the same way as traditional steels.

It exhibits good weldability and can be welded not only to itself but also to carbon steel bar without risk of galvanic reaction - so long as there is concrete cover! It must be borne in mind that the heat affect zone (HAZ) should be either mechanically cleaned or chemically pickled to preserve its corrosion resistance with stainless to stainless welds.
