NACE’s annual CORROSION conference and exposition is the leading corrosion conference in the world. This year’s edition, NACE CORROSION 2010 Conference & Expo, will attract some 5,000 industry professionals and more than 350 exhibiting companies from around the world coming together for five days of symposia, forums, technical meetings and networking events.

Continuing the company’s successful appearances in past CORROSION events, Outokumpu will focus on some of its special strengths in fighting corrosion at CORROSION 2010: the company’s special stainless steel grades and products, both austenitic and duplex. Outokumpu’s commercial and technical staff from North America will be on hand at Booth # 1231 on the Expo floor to present Outokumpu products, capabilities and services to a wide range of industries and applications – chemical, pulp & paper, water processing, desalination, flue gas desulphurization and other. On display will be the whole Outokumpu product range comprising coil, plates, bar, tubes, pipes and fittings.
Outokumpu representatives will present a paper titled “UNS S31254 – A Bleach Plant Success Story” (authors Mats Liljas, Rachel Pettersson and Lena Wegrelius of Outokumpu and Ralph M. Davison of TMR Inc.), focusing on the historical development of 254 SMO®, a highly corrosion resistant austenitic stainless steel from Outokumpu, in various applications within the Pulp & Paper industry.
Rachel Petterson and Poul-Erik Arnvig will make informal presentations for the duplex stainless steel and austenitic stainless steel working committees respectively, as a further sign of Outokumpu’s strong commitment to providing support and making an active contribution both to this leading corrosion event and to NACE International’s other activities.
In addition, Outokumpu representatives will offer NACE CORROSION attendees insight into the wealth of material available on the Outokumpu website. Attendees can also get a first-hand introduction to the newly updated Outokumpu Corrosion Handbook, which has been the state-of-the-art reference book on stainless steel for many materials selection engineers throughout the past several decades.
