What do you do at Outokumpu?
I work at the sintering plant as an operator in the wet grinding process. We process the fine concentrate from Kemi Mine by grinding it into even finer form to be suitable for making pellets.
How has your career progressed?
I graduated as an aircraft mechanic. I worked for Finnair for 7 years after graduating and joined Outokumpu in June 2011. I started at the sintering plant as an operator in the pelletizing process and moved to the wet grinding process a year later.
What do you enjoy the most in your job?
I enjoy my job because it is very versatile. I get to do many different tasks every day.
What do you like about Outokumpu?
Outokumpu is a big company that has many opportunities to offer for the employees.
What does Outokumpu's new vision of a world that lasts forever mean to you?
To me, it means that stainless steel is a maintenance-free material, and compared to other competing materials like carbon steel, you don’t have to invest into painting or maintaining it. The life cycle of stainless steel is longer and actually more inexpensive than with other materials.
