Outokumpu’s coil service center in Hockenheim, formerly known as
Hernandez Edelstahl GmbH, is unifying its operations under the Outokumpu brand as of April 1, 2018. The new legal entity is called
Outokumpu Service Center GmbH and it will be operating as part of the Outokumpu Service Center network in Europe.
Established in 2005, the Hockenheim-based service center has long experience in serving customers mainly in the distributor but also end-use segments. They offer a large variety of coil, sheet and customized products in high quality austenitic and heat-resistant grades up to 2 meters wide from an onsite warehouse or readily available through Outokumpu to meet rapidly evolving production schedules. It also specializes in surface treatments, including ground, brushed and Duplo.
Outokumpu acquired the service center fully in 2016 to further strengthen its presence on the German and other central European markets.
“Our service center is strategically located some 100km south of Frankfurt and we’re uniquely positioned to serve our customer base with flexible and fast deliveries in central Europe. The entire team at Hockenheim is excited to continue developing the business now also fully aligned with the Outokumpu brand,” says Frank Kruse, Managing Director of the Hockenheim service center.
