General procurement is part of Outokumpu Supply Chain Management Europe and responsible for the sourcing of all investments, general materials, services and transport (excl. raw material). We work through cross-functional category teams and are currently looking for a Head of Transportation Category Group. The person will lead the Transportation categories and be also responsible for one of the categories, Finished goods Nordic outbound transportation. The role will be based in Outokumpu office in Finland or in Sweden with international travel requirements.

Main responsibilities for the role:
Leading and managing category group Transportation
Communicating business requirements and strategic goals within the category group
Managing category spend and supporting the supplier management with most relevant suppliers
Leading the negotiations and completion of contracts of significant spend in the category
Driving cross-group synergies and identification of new cost reduction opportunities
Leading the Finished goods Nordic outbound transportation category management for customer shipments

Qualifications of an ideal candidate:
University-level degree in business, logistics or technology
At least 10 years of experience in category management, sourcing or supply chain, preferably in logistics/transportation and/or steel industry
At least 5 years of experience in leading multicultural teams
Strong negotiation skills and managing commercial relationships
Outstanding leadership and communication skills and ability to influence and convince others on all levels in the organization
Good knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office and skills in evaluating breakdown of costs of purchases
Fluency in English
