Corrosion Resistance of Austenitic-Ferritic (Duplex) Steels
There are duplex grades suitable for mild environments as well as grades for very aggressive environments. LDX 2101® is a lean duplex grade with corrosion resistance similar to or better than 4301. The super-duplex grade 2507 on the other hand has a corrosion resistance similar to the one of the austenitic grade 254 SMO®.
The duplex stainless steel grades generally have a good resistance to stress corrosion cracking, pitting and crevice corrosion.
