- A steel grade with a much more stable proce than austenitics
- High strength - real potential for savings in weight and cost
- Allows thinner wall thckness compared to ausenitic in most cases
- Good resistance to uniform, pitting and crevice corrosion (PRE 26) - equivalent to 316L / 1.4404 in many cases
- High resistance to stress corrosion cracking (SCC)
- Excellent abrasive and erosion resistance
- Low thermal expansion (similar to carbon steel)
- Higher thermal conductivity - an advantage in heat exchangers
- Very good machining performance
- Very good weld ability.
