A new mother coil width has been taken into use for the ferritic grade 1.4003. Now the grade is available also on the mother coil width 1350mm.
The width offers an optimal alternative for 1000mm wide coils. The 1350mm width offers a better production efficiency and optimized yield for the tube manufacturers using about 330 mm wide material. It also provides more flexible slitting pattern for the processors than 1000 or 1250 mm widths.
Outokumpu grade 1.4003 is a ferritic grade having 11% chromium. Grade is a constructional ferritic stainless steel having typical applications in various transportation vehicles (such as bus bodies and coal wagons) and in the field of architecture, building and construction.
