Outokumpu

Pulp and Paper
Stainless steel to the Paper Valley

Outokumpu has delivered over 200 tons of coils and sheets for Voith Paper’s new pilot paper machine in Heidenheim, Germany.

Outokumpu sales company in Germany secured the order in spring, and the material was produced in Avesta and Tornio. 3-12 millimeter thick hot rolled coils and sheets of 316L steel have been delivered to Althammer GmbH & Co. KG, a producer of tubes and tanks. Althammer is a big customer of Outokumpu and now responsible for producing the tanks and tubing of Voith Paper’s new paper machine.

Voith Paper is one of the world’s leading companies in paper technology. Currently the company is building a paper technology center in Heidenheim. In this center it will for the first time be possible to test and optimize in advance the complete paper production process under real conditions. The pilot paper machine made of Outokumpu steel will be the heart of this new “Paper Valley”, which will be a place for customer development, research and training.
