Top quality stainless microfilter makes a clear, safe and enjoyable beer

Beer makers’ priorities are to ensure both high quality and product safety. The liquid not only needs to be clear, but 100 percent clean. FILTROX is a top microfilter provider for breweries.

In the modern age, where people care more and more about the quality of the beverage they are consuming, beer makers know that the people are looking for a translucent and homogeneous look as well as a great tasting beer.

For the last seven decades, FILTROX has known how to meet these demands.

The problem

The microfilter removes suspended yeast from the liquid, stopping the fermentation process and stabilizing the product. The microfilter also takes out sugar and proteins to achieve the desired product quality.

The solution

The guardian of the end product in all FILTROX equipment is high-quality stainless steel. To ensure performance, it is essential that the stainless material used to produce the microfilter is as homogeneous as possible.

Every part of the stainless components of the microfilter that make contact with the end product must be polished smooth to ensure that no bacteria can cling onto the surfaces.

The results

For two decades, FILTROX has used Outokumpu stainless products sourced from the Swiss stainless distributor HANS KOHLER.

The main stainless product in a FILTROX microfilter is a round plate used to make the filter plate for the microfilter.

The rounds used for the microfilter are plasma-cut at an Outokumpu plate service center from Outokumpu hot rolled plates. FILTROX also uses Outokumpu’s hot and cold rolled sheets and hot rolled bars.
