Bilbao Bridge

Synthesis of aesthetics, corrosion resistance and ease of maintenance.

Bilbao bridge, detail

Designers of the Padre Arrupe Bridge linking the Guggenheim museum to the University of Deusto set out to make a lasting impression on Bilbao’s awe-inspiring landscape.

The bridge’s exterior demanded a material with a seemingly impossible synthesis of aesthetics, corrosion resistance and ease of maintenance.

Working closely with the designers, we developed a stainless steel that was able to satisfy all these demands, with a finish quality that will ensure its beauty endures.
