Internal auditing is an independent, objective assurance and consulting activity designed to add value and improve an organization’s operations.
The Senior Vice President - Internal Audit reports functionally to the Board Audit Committee and administratively to CFO Esa Lager.
The Senior Vice President, Internal Audit reports periodically to the Board Audit Committee and senior management on the internal audit activity’s purpose, authority, responsibility, and performance relative to its plan.
Role of Internal Audit
The most important task of Internal Audit is to assist Executive Committee in fulfilling their controlling function. In this role Internal Audit shall
- Identify and monitor significant operational risks within the Group
- Ascertain the adequacy and effective operation of internal controls within the Group
- Provide the correct and reliable information directly to Executive Committee
Tasks of Internal Audit
- Monitoring the Group’s various principles, controls and policies
- Follow-up and control of auditors’ performance
- Commenting on administrative instructions during the preparatory stage
- Taking part in the development of the new functions
- Safety matters
- Overall risk management
Helpline
Outokumpu has launched a Help line, a confidential contact channel through which employees or third party persons can report suspected misconduct confidentially and anonymously by e-mail, mail or fax or they can phone directly to Internal Audit (only English, Finnish and Swedish).
Outokumpu Internal Audit is an independent, objective assurance and consulting activity designed to add value and improve an organization’s operations. Outokumpu Internal Audit reports to the Outokumpu Board Audit Committee.
Mr. Harri Hallberg, Senior Vice President, Internal Audit takes care of the information coming through the Helpline. It is his responsibility to handle incoming information respecting the privacy and confidentially of the employee or a third party person.
All suspected misconduct cases will be resolved efficiently, fully and without delay.
